Building a Common Language Between You and Your Pet
A Trained Dog is a Happy Dog!!
Basic obedience training provides a foundation from which your dog learns to relate to you in many ways. The first objective of basic obedience training is to create a common language for you and your dog. This in turn lets your dog know the proper response (behavior) that you expect. Obedience training is a very important part of a family’s life with their dog.
When Should Training Begin?
Research shows that it is crucial for puppies to receive proper socialization and obedience training in the third and fourth month if they are to mature into confident, well-rounded adults. Undersocialized puppies grow into fearful or aggressive dogs. Our kind, safe methods give your puppy a head start on obedience and manners. Group Obedience Classes
This is the most successful approach to training your dog. Dogs acquire stability from social interaction and learn to listen and obey around distraction. The training philosophy consists of positive motivation and intervention. Each course consists of 6 classes meeting once a week for approximately one and a half hours. Class program includes one-on-one behavior counseling and the basic commands such as: sit, stay, down, come, walking on and off leash, and using both verbal and hand commands.
In-Kennel Training & Board ‘n Train
In-kennel training is ideal for pet owners who can’t train their dogs at home because of time or physical limitations. With in-kennel training, your dog goes to camp to learn basic social skills and manners. During your dog’s stay, there will be field trips to test your dog’s new social skills and good behavior under distracting but controlled circumstances. An instructor will teach you how to work with your dog in the basic commands and will answer any questions you have. In addition, you will receive follow-up lessons. Next time you will be on vacation or when boarding is needed, why not send your dog to camp?
Private instruction is also available. For pricing or to register your dog, please contact the location which best suits your needs.
